Responsible for the survey protection and research of immovable cultural relics, painted sculptures, and fresco throughout the province. Formulating standards and norms for the protection and utilization, undertaking the protection planning and survey and design work for cultural heritage units.
Conducting research on traditional crafts, technologies, materials, and pathologies, as well as digital preservation and preventive conservation of cultural relics. Overseeing the quality of cultural relic protection projects. Managing and protecting the Taiyuan Chunyang Taoist Temples, Foguang Temple and Nanchan Temple. Collecting, preserving, researching, displaying, and educating on ancient architectural exhibits. Undertaking the management and service responsibilities of the cultural relics’ protection fund.
