Short description

Half-timbered towns face a range of challenges that threaten their historic built heritage. These include, in particular, vacant properties, business closures, demographic change, the consequences of the pandemic and economic shifts. At the same time, these towns must meet the requirements of climate protection and climate adaptation. Integrated solutions were therefore developed as part of the Half-Timbered Triennial.
The forum demonstrates how half-timbered towns can preserve their historic built heritage whilst also developing liveable, sustainable neighbourhoods, despite climate change, vacant properties, economic shifts and demographic change.
