High-resolution HDR documentation of archaeological spaces using the piXplorer 5oo Mark III

This presentation demonstrates how archaeological finds, excavation sites and historic interiors are systematically documented using the piXplorer 5oo Mark III. The focus is on planning suitable shooting locations and the fully automated capture of the space visible from the location as a 360° × 180° panorama with 512 megapixels. Seven HDR exposures with a total of 26 exposure levels and the integrated system light enable images to be captured in conditions of extreme brightness variations and even in complete darkness. The presentation will also cover image quality control, site labelling, automatic offline stitching in batch mode, and the integration of SfM detail images or laser scans.
Risk assessment of psychological stress in the workplace: experiences from the implementation of a mandatory occupational health and safety measure

The Occupational Health and Safety Act requires employers, amongst other things, to carry out risk assessments and, where necessary, to implement protective measures (ArbSchG § 5). When the Act was amended in 2013, ‘psychological stress at work’ was also added to the list of factors to be assessed. The speakers will report on their six years’ experience of carrying out psychological risk assessments both within and outside the field of archaeology, and on the benefits of this measure for both organisations and employees.

A session for students, those starting out in their careers and anyone with an interest in the subject.
