Building Research 2go: Preliminary investigations – bespoke and targeted

5:30 PM - 6:00 PM Fri, 06 Nov

Short description

Architectural heritage surveys form the basis for renovations that are compatible with heritage conservation. The key survey methods are presented using a modular approach.

Description

Architectural-historical surveys form the basis for planning measures that are compatible with heritage conservation and, together with other preliminary investigations, provide cost certainty. As each historic building places different demands on the contractors and planners involved, architectural-historical surveys must be defined in a targeted manner prior to the tender process. This section provides an overview of the key survey methods, ranging from building surveys and dendrochronology to structural analysis.
