CARBOrefit® stands for sustainable and resource-saving refurbishment and strengthening with carbon reinforced concrete - a process in which existing structures made of steel reinforced concrete are efficiently, economically and diversely repaired with the innovative high-performance building material carbon reinforced concrete. CARBOrefit® has been approved by the building authorities and the corrosion resistant reinforcement guarantees a millimeter-thin design. In this way, buildings and monuments of social value can be preserved and saved from demolition. The material-efficient, lightweight reinforcement system hardly stresses the existing structure with additional loads, and the thin design preserves the historic appearance. Additional doweling of the rehabilitation measure to the existing structure is not required with CARBOrefit®, which means no additional damage to the existing structures. Even structures with low concrete strengths can be saved from demolition.
