Vita

Dipl.-Ing. Tina Kresse studied architecture at Dresden University of Technology and currently teaches and conducts research as a research assistant at the Chair of Architectural History and Theory (Dresden University of Technology). Since 2025, she has been working on her doctoral thesis, ‘The Constitution of the Post-Socialist Era – Architecture and Urban Planning in Saxony from 1990 to 2000’.

Young Love - A New Perspective on Postmodernism and Post-Reunification Modernism

It is argued that the architecture from the 1980s to 2000s is gaining recognition for its historical importance, prompting discussions about its preservation. During a panel experts will explore the uniqueness of post-modernism and post-reunification modernism, questioning whether different preservation strategies are required for these newer buildings as demolition rates increase.
