The Conservation and Restoration course at the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences offers a combination of wood, stone and mural painting that is unique in Germany. These material specialities are supplemented by the natural sciences, specialist planning in conservation and art and design. One focus in Potsdam is on the conservation and restoration of historic monuments.
The study programme is aimed at people who want to deal with the preservation of cultural heritage objects and their art-technological and art-historical aspects. The focus is on the combination of humanities, natural sciences and craftsmanship as well as pracical and research-oriented professional practice.
The aim is to enable prospective conservators to conserve and restore historical heritage objects and monuments for future generations and thus take on an important social responsibility.
