The Multipor ExSal Therm renovation and insulation system allows damp and salt-contaminated walls to be renovated whilst simultaneously providing internal insulation. It is particularly suitable for external walls in spaces such as cellars or former stables that are to be used as living or utility spaces in future.

The special ExSal Therm M2 mineral insulation board absorbs moisture and salts from the masonry. The moisture is transported away via capillary action across the board’s surface, whilst the salts are stored within the board’s porous structure. This keeps wall surfaces dry and ensures the render remains intact for the long term. It is not usually necessary to dry out the masonry beforehand.

Furthermore, thanks to its composition and structure, the mineral insulation board offers reliable thermal insulation properties. It increases the internal surface temperature and minimises heat loss through the external wall.

The system therefore rectifies moisture and salt damage whilst simultaneously improving the wall’s thermal performance.
