4:30 PM - 5:00 PM Thu, 05 Nov

Short description

The Weser-Leine-Harz Building Heritage Service, a LEADER cooperation project run by the Bauernhaus interest group, reports on its work as a building inspection service. It offers independent building inspections to owners and prospective buyers, provides information on the condition of the buildings and makes recommendations for maintenance measures.

Description

The Weser-Leine-Harz Building Heritage Service (BKD), a LEADER cooperation project run by the Bauernhaus interest group, is presenting its findings. These include common types of damage to old buildings and their causes, as well as how such a subsidised building inspection service can be set up and funded. In southern Lower Saxony, the BKD offers independent advice and expert analyses on the enhancement and preservation of historic buildings (built up to 1945) that are typical of the region and characterise the local landscape. Owners and prospective buyers can commission building surveys and receive information on the condition of the building, as well as recommendations for appropriate measures to preserve it and/or carry out climate-friendly energy-efficient refurbishment. Thanks to LEADER funding, the inspections are affordable. They are carried out by freelance inspectors such as master craftsmen, engineers or construction technicians with the relevant experience and qualifications. The BKD also works to inform, train and connect those involved in the construction sector, including planners, public authorities and tradespeople.
