Mineral-based insulation in existing buildings – the potential of insulating plasters for interior and exterior use

Improving energy efficiency in historic buildings presents challenges relating to the preservation of the façade and the structural integrity of the building. Mineral-based insulating plasters are an effective solution, as they adapt to uneven surfaces and provide both thermal insulation and vapour permeability. This presentation provides an overview of the properties and potential applications of these plasters and uses practical examples to demonstrate how energy efficiency can be achieved whilst preserving historical integrity.
