Award ceremony "Denkmalpflegepreis des sächsischen Handwerks"

The Denkmalpflegepreis des sächsischen Handwerks, which recognises outstanding craftsmanship in the field of restoration and heritage conservation, is being presented for the second time since 2024.

Across Saxony, from April to July 2026, skilled craftspeople will once again be invited to enter this prestigious competition and bring their craftsmanship and heritage conservation work to the attention of the public.

The award is intended to recognise the knowledge, expertise and skills of those professionals who have dedicated themselves to a particular degree to the preservation of historic buildings and cultural monuments. The prize is an honorary award.

All craft businesses based in the Free State of Saxony may apply for the ‘Denkmalpflegepreis des sächsischen Handwerks 2026’ with work carried out over the last three years, although the heritage conservation work may also have been carried out beyond the state’s borders.

The honorary award is presented by the three Saxon Chambers of Crafts under the patronage of the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development.
