Wedge-grooved shingles in Saxony – yesterday | today | tomorrow

11:00 AM - 11:20 AM Fri, 06 Nov

Short description

Experience heritage conservation first-hand: at the Saxony Heritage Network’s stand, we’ll be demonstrating how wooden shingles are made, sharing ‘Heritage Knowledge in 5 Minutes’ and presenting our training programmes. We’d also like to know: which training topics do you feel are missing in Saxony?

Description

At the Saxony Heritage Network’s stand, the focus is on the practical dissemination of knowledge about heritage. Visitors can experience traditional craft techniques first-hand and gain an insight into historical craftsmanship through the production and working of wooden shingles. With our ‘Heritage Knowledge in 5 Minutes’ series, we also provide concise and accessible information on historical building materials, craftsmanship and heritage conservation. Our training wall invites visitors to discover suitable courses in the fields of heritage conservation and building culture – from learning about historical techniques to developing their own craft skills. At the same time, we aim to engage in conversation with visitors: what topics interest them, and what training opportunities are still lacking in Saxony? In this way, the exhibition stand becomes a place for experimentation, learning and exchange.
