The CYBERGLOBE – Fully automated 3D digitisation of museum and archaeological artefacts

12:00 PM - 12:30 PM Fri, 06 Nov

Description

The seamless, distortion-free 3D capture of museum and archaeological artefacts – from top to bottom, without having to reposition the delicate object multiple times – poses challenges for many digitisation projects. The CYBERGLOBE offers a fully automated, comprehensive solution for this, which is particularly well-suited to the careful handling of historical and archaeological objects. This presentation focuses on the CYBERGLOBE’s hardware – its design, camera movement, lighting concept and object holders – as well as its suitability for museum and archaeological practice, for example when digitising small finds, ceramics or sculptures.
