Heritage Hackathon 2026: Saving buildings together

How can we successfully develop a concrete plan for an endangered listed building within a very short timeframe? At the 2026 Heritage Hackathon, experts from various disciplines will work together on a real listed building.

Over the course of two days at the event, the selected property will be examined from various perspectives. Topics such as the existing structure and building research, use and planning, heritage conservation, energy and building services, funding and grants, as well as organisational and operational models will be addressed collectively and brought together to form as holistic a revitalisation plan as possible. Visitors to the event are expressly invited to contribute their knowledge and ideas.

On Saturday, we would like to present the findings, discuss them together and thereby demonstrate the potential that can arise when different disciplines and stakeholders work together to save a building.
