SOLNHOFEN Natural Stone is one of Germany's most traditional building stones and has been used for centuries in churches, monasteries, castles and historic buildings. This exceptionally dense and durable limestone has been recognised as a “Heritage Stone” by the IUGS.

SSG Solnhofen Stone Group continues to quarry genuine SOLNHOFEN Natural Stone in its own quarries and processes it in various formats and finishes, from natural cleft to finely honed. Traditional edge finishes, including hand-dressed and split edges, are still available.

The stone is particularly suitable for the sensitive restoration of historic flooring, staircases and architectural elements, as well as for contemporary building projects.
